Enzo Maresca was presented
to the media at 2pm on Monday afternoon. Maresca, 19, joins from West Bromwich
Albion in the English First Division and could be included in the squad
for Juventus' away game in Udine on Saturday. The Pontecagnano-born midfielder
is captain of the Italy U-20 side coached by Claudio Gentile, and arrives
in Turin after an 18-month spell in England. He was formerly with Cagliari
and Milan as a junior. Juan Esnaider and Daniel Fonseca are both showing
signs of recovery and could be added to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the
weekend. Paolo Montero faces a one-match ban after picking up a booking
against Cagliari and will miss the Udinese game. Mark Iuliano should deputise.
And finally. Alessandro Del
Piero swapped playmaking duties for goalkeeping ones in a charity match
organised by former Italy and Napoli midfielder Salvatore Bagni. Carlo
Ancelotti, Ciro Ferrara and Filippo Inzaghi also took the field to register
their support for the Daniele Bigi commemorative appeal.
