Today's papers concentrate
on Alessandro Del Piero and Filippo Inzaghi, the stars of this evening's
clash with Lecce.
The front page of the Gazzetta
dello Sport leads with a story on Inzaghi. "The Bianconero striker is just
short of his 150th goal, and he's only 26." On the inside pages the paper
reports SuperPippo's comments: "They gave us a beating in Lecce, now we'll
level things."
Tuttosport, on the other
hand, gives itself over to transfer rumours: "Juve - Campbell is on."As
the story goes, the Tottenham defender could leave Tottenham for the Bianconeri.
There is also space for the absurd criticisms of Antonio Conte, who is
given the chance to respond. While on the inside pages talk is of Del Piero:
"Alex wants to score from open play - while Pippo wants to extend the positive
home record." Meanwhile, there is also word from Dino Zoff - manager of
Italy - concerning Del Piero: "I'm counting on him."
The Corriere dello Sport's
inside pages centre on Van der Sar: "The Bianconeri find they have a star
at the back. Only Lecce has managed to put two past him in one match. Now
he assures us it will be much more difficult. He has now come out from
behind Peruzzi's shadow." On the same page, Inzaghi's optimism is given
full voice, with Inzaghi forecasting a rosy future for Italy - "We
can win EURO 2000" - and for Juve.
