Alessandro Del Piero is one
step away from making history. If he scores tomorrow night in Galicia,
northern Spain, he will equal Juventus vice-president Roberto Bettega’s
European goal tally of 27. Thus Tuttosport headlines with "Del Piero, close
to record." The Turin-based daily also reports the return of Sunday Oliseh
who may not be a first-team regular at Juventus, but is happy to contribute
to the Bianconero cause. "I'm happy to play for Juventus and one thing
I can say, hand on heart, is that the fans haven't yet seen the real Sunday
Oliseh," comments the Nigeria international.
The Gazzetta dello Sport
also features the former Ajax man who enthuses: "My adventure is only just
beginning. I've never said I wanted to leave. We are at the top of the
toughest League in the world four points clear of our rivals."
Tuttosport, meanwhile, turns
the spotlight on Darko Kovacevic and his first match back in Spain since
leaving Real Sociedad for Turin last summer - a country where he was famed
for his goalscoring exploits. But the Gazzetta dello Sport makes another
Bianconero star the centre of speculation: "Juve wondering about Zidane"
is the headline as the Milan-based daily hypothesises over whether or not
the French ace will play in Vigo.
However, the Corriere dello
Sport opens with a headline that won't go down too well with the superstitious
element among the Bianconeri supporters: "Juve, unbeatable in Europe."
The Rome daily also reports the comments of Alessandro Birindelli who is
now over the flu: "I'm available for selection," explains the defender
who played a vital role in the win over Roma 10 days ago.
