The Bianconero future of
Zinedine Zidane and the denial of a Filippo Inzaghi incident are the central
stories in today's dailies. Zidane's resolve to remain with Juventus takes
centre stage in the Gazzetta dello Sport. Despite this being Spain's year,
the classy French playmaker maintains that "next year will once again be
the turn of the Italian clubs, and we will witness the return of Juventus
to the European summits." Asked whether he has any desire to try his hand
in the Primera Liga, he once again stresses the great leap of quality that
the Spanish League has made, but insists, "I'm happy at Juventus and want
to remain. Next year we will accomplish great things."
In the Corriere dello Sport
space is given to Luciano Moggi, the club’s general manager. Once again,
he is forced to step in to deny the rumours that Filippo Inzaghi is free
to go, with a definitive: "I repeat, Inzaghi is not for sale." The rumours
had re-started after Del Piero's Italy and Juventus partner was left on
the bench against Fiorentina. The Roman daily also interviews Carlo Ancelotti
on the subject: "I have never had any doubts about his ability," he maintains.
"Then it's up to the club. I only have a say in the technical decisions."
Tuttosport prefers to give
its attention to Alex Del Piero, who comments on his physical condition.
Although the Italy coach Dino Zoff has called him up, he is unlikely to
play as he is suffering from muscle strain. Del Piero himself is philosophical
about his situation, saying, "It is better to play those who are fitter.
I will definitely be back with Juventus against Verona, however, as I will
be able to go back to training in a couple of days."
