Big 'news' in Tuttosport
this morning, where we read that Lilian Thuram may be poised for a move
to Juventus. "There is a rumour that an exchange is underway between the
Frenchman and Filippo Inzaghi which will also pave the way for Djetou to
move to Parma," the paper writes. According to the Turin-based daily a
meeting is scheduled in Madrid for tomorrow between Roberto Bettega, Luciano
Moggi and Real president Sanz. The main topic of conversation will be Nicolas
Anelka, but the Spanish say that the Bianconeri's secret target is Raul."
The paper also runs the fist interview with Juventus new boy Marco Zanchi.
"After the triumph with the Italy Under-21s, I am hoping to make it a double
with the Champions League," he reveals.
The Corriere dello Sport
concentrates on Alex Del Piero, declaring that the player would like to
start for the Azzurri. "I would like to play against Turkey," he tells
the paper. "If I don't play, I'll be very disappointed." The Rome-based
daily also reports that the Italy coach is still in a quandary over the
number 10 shirt and that Francesco Totti is less likely to play following
Italy's defeat at the hands of Norway. "I think Zoff wanted to try all
possibilities," Del Piero comments. "Totti and I didn't have precise instructions
- we were just told to help Inzaghi up front."
Finally, the Gazzetta dello
Sport presents a quirky slant on Italy's match against Turkey on Sunday,
billing it "Juve-Galatasaray."
