It was almost a Juventus
training match at the Comunale. So many Bianconeri did the club proud in
yesterday's emotion-filled semi-final against Holland. The Gazzetta dello
Sport does not hold back in singing the praises of Zoff's men, in particular
Alex Del Piero for the effort he exerted in the aftermath of Gianluca Zambrotta's
sending off. However, it was not all one-way traffic as the Milan football
pink equally commended another Bianconero, Holland's Edgar Davids, who
not only earnt his side a penalty but equally covered acres of ground.
Juve's newest recruit David
Trezeguet is also quoted in the Milan-based paper as the ex-Monaco star
is keen to impress: "I want to repay the faith shown in me by doing what
I do best: scoring goals. My roots will also help me, seeing as Argentines
have always done well in Serie A."
Tuttosport also probes into
the club's possible future signings with names such as Anelka, Jorgensen,
Vieira and Duscher being touted. Without forgetting Udinese's Stefano Fiore,
the attacking midfielder who has caught the eye at Euro 2000. The Turin-based
daily concludes by saying that all will be revealed shortly.
