Alex back to Italy

Alessandro Del Piero is back to Turin after his vacations. He returned on Monday (July 31) and was welcomed by the many fans that waited for him at the airport. The player had spent some days at the French Polinesian island of Bora Bora before heading to California, in the company of his girlfriend, Sonia, his brother, Stefano, and his sister-in-law.

It's been reported that he lost around 2kg, getting close to regain his old shape. Many were the people that believed Alex was overweight during the Euro 2000, being this one of the causes of his fail on the tournament.

Alex is due to join the rest of the bianconeri in August 7, at Chatillon, their training camp at Valle D'Aosta. Newspaper Tuttosport from August 4 affirms that "the holidays have reinvigorated him and now he's out to prove himself again".

Meanwhile, Ancelotti's men seem to be showing the results of their practices so far. Juventus won the Birra Moretti Trophy, played last Thursday in 45 minute matches against Bari and Inter. On the first match, Vincent Pericard scored a 37-minute goal to give Juve the 1-0 win. Then, the San Nicola Stadium saw the 'Old Lady' getting a 2-1 victory on the shoot-outs against Inter, after a 1-1 tie in regular time.

Juventus had already beat a representation from Valle D'Aosta 7-0 and 6-0 in previous weeks. Coming up in August 12, a friendly against Bologna, that will probably have the presence of a Del Piero ready to leave last season behind him.
