Del Piero admits something's
still missing

Alessandro Del Piero has
started his new adventure with the Italian national team just where he
left off. Two missed scoring opportunities in the final of Euro 2000 against
France added to his wide shot in the game against Hungary last night -
three mistakes for which Italy has paid full price both in Amsterdam and
in Hungary.
Del Piero admits that this
state of affairs is clearly showing something still isn't right. He said:
"Too bad about the result. We played well and deserved to win. The team
played well but I'm still missing something. I tired but couldn't do better
than that."
Del Piero also explained
why he failed to net an apparently easy goal, revealing: "The ball bounced
in such a way that I couldn't control it better. I'm sorry about that but
I think that I played well. Trapattoni thinks that too and that's what
matters."
