Italy recalls Baggio, Zola
for Pope's Jubilee match

ROME - Brescia's Roberto
Baggio and Chelsea's Gianfranco Zola are the surprise recalls for the Italian
national team for its match on Sunday, Oct. 29 against a Serie A All-Star
XI.
The two were selected by
coach Giovanni Trapattoni on Friday for the match at the Olympic Stadium
which will be attended by Pope John Paul II, who was a goalkeeper in his
youth in Poland.
AS Roma coach Fabio Capello
and Lazio boss Sven Goran Eriksson will co-select the All Star side which
will be made up of foreign players based in Serie A.
The match is part of a weekend
organized for sportsmen and women as part of the Roman Catholic Church's
Jubilee Year to mark the start of the third Millennium of the Christian
faith.
