Fan club dinner

The traditional Juventus fan clubs' annual dinner was held at the "La  Marchesa" restaurant in Venaria. The guests of honour; Alessandro Del Piero, Ciro Ferrara and Athirson, the teams newest addition were hailed with a warm round of applause by almost 200 guests. The seven presidents of the Juventus fan clubs shared a table with the players who were accompanied by the clubs head press officer, Alessio Secco. Mariella Scirea and the head of the Juventus grounds Piero Ariotti were also present.

Thanks to the perfect organisation, the participation of the fans and the approachability of the player, the evening proved to be an great success. Ferrara was coaxed into singing a typical Neapolitan song, Del Piero joked with his fans as if he were simply sitting at a table with old friends, and Athirson, who is still struggling with the language tried to answer some of the questions that curious fans were asking him. He was also taken back by the evenings event: "For me this is a novelty, in Brazil I never got the opportunity to spend an evening like this. I am happy that things like this happen here in Italy."

The dinner ended at 10:30 pm to allow the players some rest, before their training session the next day. A special round of applause given in honour of Ciro Ferrara who turns 34 on Sunday and will be celebrating his 250th match in the Bianconero jersey. Athirson also received encouraging cheers by the fans, who are impatient to see him in action.
