Alex at "Domenica Sportiva"

Alex Del Piero was interviewed during Sunday's (March 18, 2001) broadcast of Italian tv show "Domenica Sportiva", from RAI. The interview happened moments after the match was finished, a match in which Juve lost 4-1 to Lazio at the Olimpico Stadium, but which saw a great Del Piero, who scored the bianconeri's goal.

At the studios, among other people, there were Marco Mazzochi, show host, Giorgio Tosatti, commentator, and Adriano Galliani, Milan general director who was a host that night. With Alex at the Olimpico, there was reporter Carlo Paris.

Here's what basically happened:

Paris: I won't ask you about your shape and return to form. Your goal has been exceptional, but unfortunately it didn't make a difference. However, Moggi said that it was a Juve that was penalized over certain events. Do you deny it or agree with it?

Del Piero: No, Moggi can never be denied.

(laughs)

Mazzocchi: So, you don't deny it?

Del Piero: Joking apart, I believe the fact is that I haven't seen some things on the field, but they seemed to have distressed us. But we should think of other things, Lazio's been more capable than us in some things.

Tosatti: I've seen, today and against Reggina, Juve in a little decrease. How come?

Del Piero: I don't believe in the three goal difference but in the fact that Lazio has taken advantage of their potential in a better way, and this is their grestest merit. We've also had chances and I don't think it's a matter of decrease.

Tosatti: Roma hasn't won at Reggio.

Del Piero: Roma hasn't won, so they made just one point. The table's changed very little regarding two weeks ago. (...) There is still the derby, there are eleven matches, Roma plays at Turin, there are all the possibilities to reverse this situation.

Mazzocchi: Some say Milan will return to make important buys. Some day Del Piero could leave Juventus. Let's talk about it live with Galliani?

Galliani: I don't think Juve will ever transfer Del Piero.

Mazzocchi: Alex?

Del Piero: I think... he said everything!

Galliani: I also can't be be denied, like Moggi!

Paris: They would be ready to get you, however, from what we've understood.

Del Piero: Now I have other things to think about. So... I am well at where I am.
