LA GAZZETTA DELLO SPORT reports
"battle cries" from the top two teams, pitching an attractive Roma side
against a tough Juve. Del Piero refuses to be drawn into any squablling,
though: "We have regained our concentration and confidence. We believe
in ourselves, and the wrangling won't touch us". The Milan pink then picks
up on yesterday's interview with Zidane, with the Frenchman stressing the
importance of all the remaining games, and asking for the fans' help. Meanwhile,
there's praise for these two from across the waters, with the American
magazine "Forbes" judging Del Piero and Zidane among the players most worthy
of a wapping salary. The same two players also turned up at the launch
of sponsor Adidas' new campaign, giving reporters further opportunity to
grill them on the Scudetto battle. The paper reports back too from yesterday's
workshop, where club secretary, Giraudo and vicepresident, Bettega outlined
the club's healthy market position and business plans. Juve brand marketing
seems to be on a winner too, as it appears that the Bianconeri are already
Europe's favourite club, topping 17 million supporters.
IL CORRIERE DELLO SPORT interprets
Zidane's caution as declaration of a state of emergency: "We gained three
points on Roma but we're no longer brilliant". Del Piero's stance, however,
serves to neutralise the panic: "We are ready for the sprint". The coach
is also in confident mood: "What crisis, we won't give up. Now I have less
doubts, more certainty, motivation and hunger". Meanwhile, there's stability
also in bricks and mortar, as Giraudo reports that the club, together with
neighbours Torino, are now ready to buy the Delle Alpi stadium.
TUTTOSPORT makes use of Zidane
to fuel transfer stories, with the Frenchman expressing hopes to see a
Juve reinforced by new star players, whether compatriots or otherwise.
The club's board are listening too, apparently putting pressure on Parma
for Thuram and Conceicao. Finally, space again for Giraudo to outline the
club trademark's success in the Far East, as well as investments at home
in the stadium and new training centre.
