Public
prosecutor Raffaele Guariniello is continuing his investigation into the
alleged use of illegal substances by Juve players from 1994-1998. Guariniello,
who has already successfully managed to obtain indictments against managing
director Antonio Giraudo and Dr Riccardo Agricola is now set to uncover
which players were involved in the case. According to the reports in French
daily L'Equipe, Zinedine Zidane and Didier Deschamps, along with Alessandro
Del Piero, Angelo Di Livio and Moreno Torricelli were given iron-based
substances in excessive quantities in order to boost their performances.
According to the French paper, Guariniello also believes the players were
unaware of the fact that they were administered substances forbidden by
the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
