TURIN - "My birthday will
be celebrated under respectively calm conditions in the end," announced
Juventus FC midfielder Alessandro Del Piero who is celebrating his birth
27th anniversary today, La Nazione states. The midfielder must not be accused
of uttering these words because this year his team weren't beaten out from
the Champions League.
"Of course, we cannot say
that we were magnificent this season, but all these difficulties are in
favour of us. I'm sure there are no insuperable hindrances," the midfielder
announced.
Del Piero also analyzed the
match of Juventus against Verona FC: "This match was of symbolic importance
for us. We didn't play well but managed to end it in a draw. When we realize
that we were to play the whole match as we did in the last 20 minutes then
all our problems will be resolved. We don't play so bad but it's not enough
because other clubs demonstrate high-quality performance."
Del Piero received a lot
of congratulations and he also congratulated Carlo Ancelotti on his new
position: "I congratulate Ancelotti and wish him and Milan a successful
finish, but of course, behind us."
In response to Roma's captain
Francesco Totti's announcement that Juventus cannot finish the championship
equal to them, Del Piero said: "I hope that he is wrong."
