TURIN - On Sunday Juventus'
fans whistled Alessandro Del Piero at the moment of his substitution with
Zalayeta, while yesterday a banner appeared at Comunale stadium that read:
"Come on Alex, Curva Sud is with you." This means that Curva Sud showed
its love for him again, while other groups of supporters tried to prove
that the whistles were directed at Lippi. As "Gazzetta dello Sport" reported
today, Del Piero avoided comment, but it is obvious that he didn't ignore
the event. He said on his personal page: "Despite whistles, I'm tranquil
and ready to face Saturday's match against Inter at San Siro."
The team also reaffirmed
their absolute trust in Del Piero. The superstar wants to stay in Turin,
and Juventus want the same. This season Del Piero has played 39 matches
in the championship, Italian Cup and the Champions League and scored 19
goals. He has done a tremendous job on the field, not only in attack, where
he usually plays, but also in midfield and defense.
