MILAN - Juventus will be
without French defender Lilian Thuram and possibly striker Alessandro Del
Piero for their Champions League game in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen
on Tuesday.
Juve said on their official
website that Thuram had suffered a groin strain during Saturday's 2-2 draw
at Inter Milan and would miss Tuesday's game.
Del Piero picked up a knock
to his left ankle and the club said there was a 'strong doubt' over his
participation in the Group D match.
French striker David Trezeguet
twisted his knee during the top of the table clash at the San Siro stadium,
but the club said that there was a good chance that Trezeguet, who is the
top scorer in the Champions League with eight goals, would be fit for Tuesday's
match.
Juventus, who are third in
the group three points adrift of Deportivo Coruna and Arsenal, will also
be without the suspended Edgar Davids and Mark Iuliano.
