moment"

Nine goals in a little more
than one month of official games. The 2002/2003 season of Alessandro Del
Piero started under the sign of the goal. In every competition and in every
way.
The blackandwhite captain
is living an incredible moment, surely one of the best of his career. "It's
really a good moment for me - Alex confirmed - I don't know if it's the
best one of my career, also four years ago I was doing good things. In
comparison with other moments I think I'm more costant. But now it's too
early to say anything, I'd rather wait for the end before making any count.
I let the others judge, my referring points are the coach and my teammates.
Their opinions are the most important to me".
Del Piero is more and more
a protagonist in Italy and in Europe: always under the spotlight for his
"artworks". Someone is advancing the idea of the Best European Player prize
for him, a really important prize for all the players.
And obviously also for Alex
that, for the moment, doesn't believe very much in his victory in the trophy:
"I think it's hard. This year the World Cup will be important for the evaluation
and in the last season things dind't go very well for me in the International
Competitions. I don't know how important could be for me the victories
in the Serie A, in the Italian Supercup and the three last excellent months.
Anyway, who knows. For the moment I see as favourites Ronaldo, Zidane, Raul,
Rivaldo and Figo".
To reach that important prize
Del Piero knows he has to help his Juventus to advance, especially in the
Champions League. Starting from tomorrow's match against Newcastle. A match
that Juventus' players want to win to get closer and closer to the next
round. "We've got to go on the pitch adrenalyzed and excited. We know that
winning we would do an important step towards the qualification. We'll
find a Newcastle in a good condition, ready to show that the two defeats
in the competition weren't deserved. And in the forward there's Shearer,
a great striker. Like all the English teams, they'll come to Turin to play
openly. I'm sure it will be a good match".
