Today's headlines are split between the Canadian Grand Prix and remarkable promotion of Reggina to serie A. There is also news of Juventus' moves in the transfer market, speculating on Crespo again.

The headline on Tuttosport reads: "Torino: 50,000 celebrate. Reggina beats Torino and follows them into serie A. Promotion for Lecce too." The paper also mentions Juventus' interest in Salgado: "Juve eye Salgado. The Bianconeri are the favourites in the race for the Spanish defender. Farewell Deschamps. Crucial week for Del Piero's contract, Zidane refuses Parma, Di Livio joins Firenze."

Tuttosport continues: "With Di Livio and Deschamps leaving, Juve can officially introduce Jonathan Bachini and, perhaps, Giannichedda who should arrive after the deal with Muzzi, the former was bought several months ago and has been part of the Bianconeri squad for the last twenty days at least. Mark Iuliano and Gianluca Pessotto's future is still undecided, while the Simone - Fonseca deal with Paris Saint Germain, becomes concrete.

The Gazzetta dello Sport's headline: "Crespo appeals to Juve. Ancelotti: 3 steps and we'll be happy. The club will test the water concerning the Argentinian striker. The Juve coach confirms his search for a mid-fielder, defender, and a left winger."

Ancelotti says: "Van der Sar is among the first five keepers in the world, Kovacevic has got the talent we require, but our search has not finished yet."

The Corriere dello Sport devotes large column space to Reggina's and Lecce's promotion to serie A: "Reggina - a legendary day for football in the south of Italy, seeing the Calabrian people in serie A for the first time."

It also considers this an important day for Juve, the return of Bianconeri hero, Del Piero, from holiday: "Today is Del Piero's day. Today he is back in Italy. Will he sign with Juve till 2005? Once an agreement on the playing side of things is found, then the problem of sponsorship can be faced. According to the player, it is just a matter of 8,500m lire."

The other clubs are taking action, too: "Last move for Chiesa and Fiorentina: A 28 billion lire deal. The striker wants guarantees about his future, and Cecchi Gori has four year contract prepared."

There is also some surprising news from England: "Elton John offers Bergomi 4 billion lire deal. Watford has offered the 36-year-old Inter defender a two-year contract for 2 billion lire per year. Lazio: "Anelka or the nimble Lopez? Eriksson has to choose. Salas' destiny will depend on the final agreement of the two deals; he could be offered as part of a deal with Thuram's move to Parma, particularly whether Tanzi will hand Crespo to Juve."
