The headlines in the main
daily sports papers are still about Turin 2006. The euphoria accompanying
this important news continues. There's a festival atmosphere in the Piemonte
regional capital - a great welcome yesterday for the organisers who have
brought the Olympic Games to our land after fifty years.
A lot of space is devoted
to market news, which continues to provide surprises and denials.
The Gazzetta dello Sport's
headline is: "All for us Inzaghi", the "goal brothers" talk to the Milan
daily and look forward to a year full of success. Championship for Juve,
Champions Cup for Lazio". The Oliseh case seems to have been settled -
"Juve-Ajax: turning-point for Oliseh. Juventus, considering Oliseh's liking
for the black and white shirt, could snatch him from Rome but paying Ajax
a lot more than the anticipated 24 billion lira (approximately 8.2 million
pounds). The Ventola story seems destined to end too, Inter and Bologna
having reached an agreement in principle.
Inside the Milan daily we
find other details about the transfer of the Nigerian Oliseh to Juventus.
"The Nigerian's no to Sensi, but now the "black and whites" have to reach
agreement with Ajax. In a strong position after the agreement initialled
with Roma, the Dutch ask the "black and whites" for more money. The player
has refused to go to the capital and wants Juve".
Tuttosport devotes a lot
of space to the young Nigerian player too: "Oliseh: I want Juve. Imminent
resolution of the case: Moggi ready to soften up Sensi with Regonesi".
Other news concerning Juve: "Deschamps, offers from Monaco and Athletic
Bilbao. Crucial days for Del Piero's signature, optimism is mounting. Tudor
towards Udinese: negotiations for Djetou and Lorenzo Amoruso re-open".
The Corriere dello Sport
is of the same opinion: "Oliseh, Juve win. Sensi is expecting Oliseh today
but the Nigerian wants Juve and won't turn up. Now it's up to Juve to reach
agreement with Ajax". Anelka's transfer to Lazio now seems certain: "Muzzi
frees Anelka. Today the French striker's lawyers will ask Arsenal to accept
Lazio's offer. Arsenal, in the meantime, have made a move for Muzzi: however
Cellino is asking 30 billion lira (about 10 million pounds)".
Other transfer news: "Inter,
assault on Giannichedda. Bologna say Mangone and Ingesson are not up for
transfer. Perrotta on loan to Bari: agreement close".
