The Del Piero saga now seems to be settled. There is lots of coverage of yesterday's meeting between Juve general manager Luciano Moggi and Del Piero's agent D'Amico in the sports papers. A final meeting to tie up loose ends has been set for next Tuesday.

Tuttosport's big headline is: "Del Piero-Juve: yes, the deal is done!" The paper then goes on to give more details: "Now it's official: the final meeting will be on Tuesday in Turin. Five year contract, 9bn lira wage (around £3.1m) and coordination of the rights to his image. Moggi made the announcement after Tuesday night's frantic toing and froing and yesterday's briefing with D'Amico. The playmaker will be back from Sardinia to sign on the dotted line." The news will make Juventus fans breathe a huge sigh of relief.

The paper also says Juventus are looking to sign Salgado or Djetou and that Nigerian international Sunday Oliseh is all but signed. The Bianconeri are also pursuing Perugia's Croat forward Milan Rapajc. Any possible deal may involve Daniel Fonseca and Alessandro Birindelli. Roma coach Fabio Capello wants Mark Iuliano.

Gazzetta dello Sport also covers the Moggi-D'Amico meeting on its front page. "Del Piero to sign on Tuesday. The meeting with Juve's attacker is set for Tuesday and is likely to end in a deal being struck." Further on in the paper, Juventus coach Carlo Ancelotti has his say on Juventus' transfer market activity: "We have a competitive Juventus. I am happy because the club is making the right moves in a difficult market where, with the exception of Christian Vieri, there haven't been any big name signings because clubs who have the top players are holding on to them. We have fought hard to keep transfer targets such as Davids, Montero and Zidane."

The paper also devotes plenty of column inches to Francesco Totti, saying that both Inter and AC Milan are pursuing Roma's star forward. Totti says it is high time Roma won the Scudetto but that Inter, with Vieri, are the favourites, with reigning champions AC Milan second favourites followed by Roma, Parma, Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio. Totti says: "Is Capello relying on me? That's no problem. I'll shoulder that responsibility. We have Montella, who, mamma mia, always hits the target."

Finally to Corriere dello Sport which focuses on another frenetic day of talks involving the big clubs. Corriere says Inter want Chamot, Lazio's Okon is heading for Fiorentina, and Mallorca's Lauren has been linked with Roma. According to the paper Lecce have signed Colonello, Kallon is not going to Reggina, Gaucci is interested in Savicevic, and Lazio's Spanish playmaker Ivan De la Pena would choose Chelsea ahead of Parma.
