Michael Schumacher's dramatic accident at Sunday's British Grand Prix still figures prominently in all the sports dailies. The fear over, it is now time to reflect and make decisions.

There are plenty of column inches too for what is becoming an endless saga - the Anelka affair gives us something new every day.

We will start with Gazzetta dello Sport. The Milan daily devotes a lot of space to the Maranello case: "Ferrari still roaring. Everybody with Irvine: it's a hunt for the World Championship. And Salo will join the fight for the constructors' title".

The paper has this centre-page headline: "Anelka, Euro row. Juve make another bid, ultimatum from Lazio and the player makes threats. Arsenal make it known that they've received an offer from Juventus of 84bn lire [£28.9m] which includes forwards Henry and Amoruso. But Cragnotti can count on the striker's full agreement and asks the English club for a definite answer by today: he's offering 54bn lire [£18.6m] plus another 12 billion [£4.1m] in the case of a new sale."

Now to Juventus's second outing of the season yesterday evening against a Valle d'Aosta XI: "Juve, 6 young goals and a promise: Del Piero. An own goal, then O'Brien, Henry, Rigoni (2) and Sculli score. A good understanding between Inzaghi and Amoruso. Kovacevic did not play because of a hitch over his transfer. Ovations for Del Piero who appeared on the bench and, according to Ancelotti, is ready."

Moving on to Tuttosport, the front page is divided equally between the day's two top stories. "Ferrari: here's Salo. His first name's Mika and, like Hakkinen, he's Finnish - the driver ready to replace Schumacher in the red team. The German is feeling better, hopes to be back as early as Monza but admits: 'I'm lucky to be alive.' An announcement today: contact with Alesi too but he doesn't enjoy a supporting role. Irvine intent on risking the golden opportunity".

The paper has coverage of Juventus' friendly match yesterday: "Six goals waiting for Alex: Del Piero saved, Kovacevic transfer hitch. Henry and O'Brien score. Two goals from Rigoni. Ancelotti alternated between two quite different teams - in the first half the Intertoto Cup version, in the second half the 3-5-2 formula. Sculli and an own goal by Volpone completed the rout. Amoruso hit the crossbar and Tacchinardi the post".

Torino, meanwhile, are keen to build a good side and have decided to start off with a striker: "Ferrante: the turning point. Torino ready to offer the forward 200 million lire more [£69,000]. Press conference today for Diawara and the Swedes Edman and Lantz".

We end our summary with Corriere dello Sport. The Rome daily has a bombshell on its front page: "Anelka reports Juve." The French attacker is furious: "I'll sue them for damages, they're getting in the way of my career. They're harming me, they're continuing to hold up negotiations with Lazio. I've already said I don't want to go to Turin but Juve have made another offer."

There are lots of column inches devoted to the transfer market: "Parma are about to sell Ze Maria to Palmeiras and don't want to deprive themselves of Vanoli, but now the full-back is asking for guarantees. Negotiations between Bologna and Fiorentina for Tarozzi. Inter extremely busy: they are trying to resume talks with Roma for Candela and they're looking at an offer from Newcastle for Djorkaeff. Verona: Seric should sign today and there'll be a decision for Stellone".
