Juventus
triumphed 1-0 over Milan in the ninth edtition of the Luigi Berlusconi
Trophy, played last night in the Stadio San Siro of Milan. Juventus was
able to outplay Milan throughout most of the match, displaying a superiour
mental and physical condition than that of the reigning Serie A champions.
Juventus's goal came at the 28th minute when from outside the area Del
Piero, after having received Inzaghi's pass, looked to the far post but
shot to the near one leaving Milan goalie Abbiatti stunned and offguard.
Nigerian Sunday Oliseh, who last night with great ease found the two forwards
Inzaghi and Del Piero with delicious assists, showed coach Ancellotti that
he is the playmaker that Juventus hoped he would turn out to be . It was
Oliseh himself who around the middle mark of the second half shot a 35
meter blast which skimmed the crossbar over Abbiati's head. The game ended
with Del Piero receiving a standing ovation and Milan looking to resolve
its problems after a disastrous performance.
