Juventus' 1-0 win over Inter
at the weekend is still giving the sports press plenty to think about.
Tuttosport carries stories this morning on Zinedine Zidane's much-rumoured
but increasingly unlikely move to Spain. "I don't like the city of Turin
much," Zidane told reporters, "but my attachment to this side grows by
the day." Alessandro Del Piero is also in the news. Sunday's win against
Marcello Lippi's Inter has whetted his appetite - to the extent that he
has named Fiorentina coach Giovanni Trapattoni as his next scalp when Juve
go head-to-head with Fiorentina on Sunday. Confidence is certainly running
high in the Bianconeri camp. Even Carlo Ancelotti has got caught up in
the euphoria. "We are looking like Sacchi’s great Milan side."
Tuttosport also finds space
for a Filippo Inzaghi interview in which the Juve striker declares: "Now
I'm positive that we can win the Scudetto". David Beckham's presence in
Turin yesterday for the filming of a new Pepsi commercial is also reported.
The Manchester United midfielder delighted observers by saying that he
is "dreaming of meeting Juventus in the Champions League Final."
Carlo Ancelotti's rising
credibility is evident in the Gazzetta dello Sport too. "Now we're seeing
Ancelotti's Juve," the Milan-based daily observed. It goes on to quote
the Bianconeri boss: "I have always been confident that this side can do
great things," he said. "We have conceded just six goals in 13 matches,
and that's largely thanks to the brilliant team spirit we have fostered."
Finally, the Corriere dello
Sport tries to quell all the excitement. "Watch out, Ancelotti!" it warns.
"Parma - the Juventus boss’s old side - are looking even more impressive."
