At a time when news is rather
thin on the ground due to the winter break, Juventus are still a focal
point, in particular for their brilliant transfer market coups. Hot off
the press from Tuttosport: "Del Piero For Ever". The paper reports that
while Cragnotti is contemplating selling Nesta, the paper sees Alex as
Juventus' guiding light just as Baresi was for Milan. Meanwhile Moggi is
sure of two things, that Ancelotti and Zidane are here to stay, adding
that he would not sell the Frenchman whatever the sum involved.
The Turin daily is also full
of news about Tacchinardi, who is described as "a revelation for Juve".
The player has this to say: "Now I want to play for Italy. I was regarded
beforehand as the unfinished article, but I just needed to develop. I think
that Dino Zoff could at least give me a try. Everyone says that there is
a shortage of Italian midfielders."
The Gazzetta dello Sport
focuses on Edgar Davids who sees the year 2000 panning out successfully.
"Fully recovered, the Dutch midfielder is now setting his sights on winning
the Scudetto and the European Championship. It has been a difficult year
but now Juventus are back to their best. As for Lazio being ahead, that's
fine as two points are easy to claw back and now they are the ones under
pressure."
