AUGUSTA, Ga. Last
year, Tiger Woods felt the weight of the golfing world on his shoulders
when he came to the Masters. After closing 2000 with three-consecutive major
victories, he knew a second green jacket at Augusta National would secure
the modern games first "unofficial" grand slam.
Never mind that it didnt come in the same calendar year, Woods two-stroke win over David Duval was the stuff of legends. Tiger Woods, who defends his Masters title at lengthened Augusta
National Golf Club next week, appears on the cover of the new May edition
of Golf Digest. It marks the 16th time the magazine has featured him.
That ties him with Billy Casper for fifth-all-time. Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead rank one-through-four, respectively. MORE... |
