~The Beatles were big 'Lord of the Rings' fans and wanted to make The Lord of the Rings movies. Paul would've been Frodo, Ringo as Sam, John as Gollum, and George as Gandalf. Tolkien really didn't like that idea so the project died. Sadly, John and George didn't live to see the movies (John was shot by a fan in 1980 and George died of lung cancer three weeks before The Fellowship of the Ring came out). Paul loves the movies and says that along with 'The Wizard of Oz' they're his favorite movies. (Thanks to this site for the info.)

~John co-wrote many songs for The Beatles with Paul McCartney. They made an agreement to share all credit for songs, even if they didn't write them completely together.

~Before becoming a member of The Beatles, Ringo was the drummer for another Liverpool band.

Ringo was hired to replace Pete Best on August 18, 1962.

~Paul and John were introduced on July 6, 1957 at a St. Peter's Church function where the Quarrymen were performing (Quarrymen was the group that John was in before The Bealtes).

~George and Paul went to the same grammar school and even rode the same bus. In 1958, Paul introduced George to John. George was a better guitarist than John, so he was asked to join Quarrymen in February, 1958.

~George owned a couple of Ferraris. John decided he wanted one too so when he got his they raced around in them.

~Ringo is the only Beatle that does not sing in 'Ringo's Theme'. (Ok-- more of something that bugs me.)

~Paul and Ringo are the two leftys in the group.

~In 1969 John changed his middle name from Winston to Ono.

~The Beatles called their die-hard fans Apple Scruffs.
