THE STAR WARS - WICCAN CONNECTION

For 20 odd years we have been watching the big and small screen, rooting for our hero's Luke, Han, R2D2 and C3PO.  With other such charactors as Darth Vada, Yoda and the rest of the squad fighting the Good-Evil battle.

The famous quote has a lot more to it than you might first think.  Throughout the series of movies you will also hear many things that equate with what we, as Wiccans, believe. "Feel the power" and "Let the power be your guide" are both such excellent examples of this. So, what is the power?  George Lucas says that it is everything, the all - that everything is connected to everything else and it is what we know of God.  This power, this force, eminates from everything around us and in us.  It is a part of us and it makes everything that we know and everything that we don't know about.

"May The Force Be With You!"

This is the same power that flows through the galaxy a long time ago and far, far away, it's the energy we experience everyday when we practice the Craft. What about the fight between Luke and his Father in the cave whin it turns out to be Luke himself?  This si a classic example of the fight we have with ourselves to conquer the side of us that allows us to think, act and do what we know we shouldn't.  The fight against the Dark side in all of us.  From this point of view, we know that we can overcome enything is we believe in it enough.
