| Chapter Twenty-five "You are right Tiff, I'm sorry." He said standing to walk up the stairs. He was half way up when he turned back to me. "But if things don't work out with you and Joey, you know where to find me." He winked and disappeared into his room. I sat back down and took a couple of breaths to compose myself, when my phone rang. "Hello?" "Hey sweetheart, I didn't wake you did I?" Joey asked softly. "No, I'm awake. Why aren't you sleeping?" "We just got in. I went out to some clubs with the guys. You sound funny, is everything ok?" "Yeah I think so. Something just happened, and I have to tell you but you can't freak out ok?" "Well, it depends on what you have to tell me. I'll try not to freak out though." "AJ kissed me." I said taking a deep breath. "He what??? Tell me you're kidding please." I could hear the anger in his voice. "No, I'm not kidding. I'm sorry. I talked to him though. I told him that I love you. He apologized." "How much longer will they be there? I want him out of your house." "Just a couple of days hon, then I'll be there with you." "Damn him. I should kick his ass." "Joey, please stop." I said starting to cry. "I shouldn't have even told you." "Yes, I'm glad you told me, it makes me love you even more." I could tell he was calming down. "I'm gonna try to get some sleep, you do the same ok? And lock your bedroom door." I laughed. "Tiff, I'm serious." "OK hon, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'm going to go to bed too. I'll talk to you tomorrow if I get a chance ok?" "OK Love you. Bye." "Love you too." I sighed before I hung up. I wasn't able to sleep the rest of the night and it showed the next day at the video shoot. I was on edge and kept snapping at everyone. AJ avoided me only winking at me and smiling a few times. We were able to wrap the video that day around midnight and I slept the whole way home. The guys helped me into the house and sat me on the sofa. "Tiff are you ok?" Nick asked worriedly. "I'm fine, just tired. I think I'm gonna go to bed." I tried to stand but decided it would be easier to kick off my shoes and sleep on the couch. The phone rang as I was dosing off and AJ answered. "Hello?...Yeah this is AJ.....No she's sleeping.....Why are you yelling at me?....I'm sorry about what happened I know I was out of line man.......No she fell asleep on the couch....OK I'll tell her....." I woke the next morning and everyone was already up. The guys had all of their bags together by the front door and they were dressed to leave. "You guys leaving today?" I asked, I thought they would stay another night. "Yeah we gotta get to LA for some interviews and then back to New York tomorrow." Brian said putting an arm around my shoulders. "Did you sleep good? I can't believe how tired you were." "Yeah I slept pretty good thanks. I didn't sleep the night before so I was exhausted." "Well, guys it's time to head out." Kevin said looking at his watch. All of the guys hugged me and went out to the cars. "Tiff I really am sorry. Joey called last night and was he ever pissed when I answered your phone." He looked guilty. "I apologized to him." "Thanks AJ." I said hugging him. The guys drove away a few minutes later and about an hour after that Carly had to head home too. |
