Chapter Thirty

"That sounds great baby. I can't wait." I said sighing myself. Just then my door burst open and Chris and Justin came waltzing in.

"What was that?" AJ asked, concerned.

"Chris and Justin, they are in town and I ran into them earlier. Now they think they can just bust into my hotel room whenever they want." I said, the last part directed at the pair that had made themselves at home on my couch. They dismissed me with a wave of their hands and turned to the television. "Can I call you back later babe?"

"Uh, sure, I'll be here. Talk to ya later."

"Ok, bye."

"Bye." I hung up and Chris and Justin turned to me.

"You didn't have to get off the phone for us Tiff." Justin said smiling.

"Yeah Tiff, we were just gonna sit here and watch TV we wouldn't have eaves dropped much." Chris laughed.

"Well, I am off the phone now, so what do you want?"

"Just wanted to come see you. Talking to loverboy?" Justin asked with a slight edge to his voice.

"Yes, I was talking to AJ Justin, why?"

"No reason." He answered rolling his eyes at Chris. "So how is that going? You and AJ I mean?"

"Honestly? It's ok, he's fun and great but the sexual aspect of our relationship is the only thing that keeps us going. We don't really have that much in common and we don't really talk that much. It's wierd." I said starting to talk to myself.

"Tiff, Tiff are you there?" Chris asked laughing. "Sounds to me like you are having a fling, not a relationship."

"Yeah, you know what I think you are right."

"So, are you going to the MTV party with AJ?"

"Yeah, that's why he called actually, to see if I wanted to go with him. It sounds like fun. Are you guys going?"

"Yeah we are, it should be a blast." Chris said dancing around the room. Justin and I shook our heads laughing. I spent the evening with the guys, minus Joey, and we had a pretty good time. They left the next morning and I never once even saw Joey, althogh I'm sure he knew I was there.

The following week I flew to New York to meet AJ and I was pretty excited about the party. I bought a new dress, and even made an appointment to have my hair done, something that I didn't like to do. That evening as I was getting dressed in my hotel room there was a knock at the door.

"Come in AJ, I'm almost ready." I called, but there was another knock. I quickly pulled my shoes on and went to the door. When I opened it I found a dozen roses with a card. The card read, save the last dance for me. There was no signature and I smiled knowing that AJ had sent them. When he arrived he was pleased with my appearance, to say the least. My dress was deep blue and fell just above my knees, there was a small slit up my thigh and it fell very low in the back.

"Wow, you look great!" He exclaimed kissing me passionately. "Maybe I'll just keep you here all night."

"No way, I'm looking forward to this party." I said kissing him and pushing him towards the door. "Thank you for the flowers by the way, the are beautiful."

"What flowers?" He asked, looking at me puzzled.

"The roses, the ones you sent me." I stated.

"Baby, I didn't send you any roses, sorry." We stepped onto the elevator and I shook my head, wondering who could have sent me roses.
