| Chapter Five "It's ok, I scare easily." I replied, regretting it as soon as I noticed the mischevous twinkle in his eye. "Can I get you anything?" He asked laughing. "Unless you have asprin and a Mountain Dew then no thanks." He winked and disappeared around the corner. When he reappeared he had both the asprin and the soda. "Oh you are a life saver." I smiled taking the asprin and quickly washing it down. "I practically live on the soda, so it's always around." "Well it's good to know I'm not the only one." I laughed sitting down in a comfy looking chair. Chris sat in the chair next to me and rested his forearms on his thighs, looking over at me. "So how long have you known Joey?" "Forever I guess, our fathers became friends when they moved in next door to us." I laughed then and he looked at me quizzically. "We hated each other at first. He and Robbie used to pick on me till I was so angry I couldn't see straight." "So when did it change?" Chris asked smiling. "When Joey realized that I was a better partner in crime than Robbie. From then on Robbie was miserable and Joey and I were inseperable." I looked away then fighting back tears. "I've seen that same look from Joey a thousand times, you don't have to be embarrassed." "Thanks, I'm ok though." I replied waving my hand. "Well I'm gonna head back to my room I have a long day ahead of me. Thanks for everything, Tell the guys I said bye ok?" I said getting up and leaving the room. When I got back to my room I showered and changed, as I was checking my voice mail there was a knock on my door. I opened it to find Joey and JC stading outside. I motioned them in and listened to the rest of my messages. I hung up smiling. "Morning guys." I said hugging them both. "Morning, why'd you take off before we woke up?" Joey asked sitting on my bed. "I had a lot to do today, I thought. I got a message from both clients that I'm supposed to be seeing here and they have both asked to postpone. I also needed to go to the police station, but Mark has givin a full confession and they don't need me to now." I smiled and sat down next to Joey. "Now I need to make one more phone call, hopefully it won't take long though. Will you wait?" "Sure, we'll wait,." JC sighed stretching out on the couch and closing his eyes. I picked up my phone and headed out to the balcony. After 3 rings there was an answer. "Hello?" "Carly?" "Yeah...Tiffany? Is that you? Are you ok?" "Im great, better than ever. How are you?" "I'm ok, working a lot, starting a vacation tomorrow." "I'm calling to apologize. You are my best friend in the world and I didn't stick up for you when Mark told me I couldn't talk to you anymore. I was so stupid and I just hope you can forgive me." "Tiffany, of course I can forgive you. Even though, yes you are stupid." She was laughing then and I breathed a sigh of relief. "I hope that you have woken up and gotten rid of that asshole." "Last night actually. As we speak he is sitting in jail." "Woohoo!! Way to go!!. I am so glad that you finally woke up." "Me too. So what are you doing for your vacation?" |
