Chapter Three They settled on a small quiet restaurant not far from the house. The food was wonderful, and it was never crowded. They ordered large plates of lasagna and ravioli. Kevin had an iced tea while Yvonne opted for red wine. She wasn't yet old enough to drink, but they knew her and didn't dispute her order. When the food came they tried to remain engrossed in their plates, but their eyes strayed to one another more than once. "So, Yvonne, do you have a boyfriend back home?" "Goodness no, there's no one there that's going anywhere in life. I need some excitement, a fast pace...I think." She laughed nervously. "You think?" "This is my first time away from home. I've never been in a fast paced environment, it seems so exciting, so exhilarating. I can't wait to do some travelling." Her eyes were shining brightly and her skin was almost glowing with her excitement. "But anyway, what about you, girlfriend?" "Nope, no girlfriend." He replied averting his eyes from her gaze. If she knew what was hidden in the shadows of his eyes she would run, and never give him a second look. But he was just having some fun, innocent flirting was all this was, he rationalized with himself. So, why then, if it was innocent flirting, didn't he tell her he was married? Happily married, he thought. Yvonne did not notice the look in his eyes. She was thrilled to think that he was single, and all of the signs he was giving her said that he was interested, in her. How could this man, this international superstar, be interested in her. She was a cute girl, but did not consider herself a knockout by any means. She was average height, about 5'7", black hair with blond highlights, athletic build from her years of volleyball and basketball, and a smile like the sunrise. People who saw her were attracted to her kindness, it shone in her eyes all the time. She never saw this though, to her she was just being herself. She was raised to be kind to people, and she had a gift buried inside of her that prevented cruel behavior toward others. As they finished up dinner and walked back to the car Yvonne could feel the warmth from the wine seep into her body. She loved the way it made her feel, and how well she slept after just one glass. That had been her reasoning tonight. She needed some sleep, and knowing that Kevin was only a few feet away from her didn't make that an easy task. As they arrived back at the house Kevin took her hand, lacing his fingers with hers and smiling. A jolt ran through her body that she'd never felt before and her breathing became shallow and quick. "I had a really good time tonight." Kevin whispered kissing the back of her hand. "Me too." Yvonne sighed, smiling nervously. "Thank you." "Anytime." Kevin's voice had become little more than a whisper as he leaned close to her and kissed her softly bringing his hand up to run through the hair that hung loosely around her face. He jerked back suddenly. "I am sorry, I shouldn't have done that." "Why not?" Oh great she thought, I must not be doing something right. "It's so quick, and you are young, and..." He trailed off as she looked at him intently tracing her finger along the top of his hand. "That...that feels....wow." He smiled. She looked down at her hand on his and pulled back quickly. "I'm sorry, I didn't even realize..." He cut her off with another kiss, a deeper, more passionate kiss, that left her breathless. "Kevin." His name passed her lips in a whisper and he tightened his hold on her. "Yvonne, what have you done to me?" He sighed kissing her neck and shoulders. "I can't believe the way you make me feel, the things you have stirred up in my that I thought were gone. You are so beautiful." He finished looking into her eyes as she blushed furiously. "Yvonne, look at me. You are beautiful, there is something about you, I can't take my eyes off of you." "Thank you." She replied kissing him softly on the cheek before climbing out of the vehicle. |
