POWERFIT® has been designed, trialed and released by Ulises Puiggros to give Official Trainers and there classes a unique barbell/cardio experience. POWERFIT® is a training program that consists of 3 blocks of exercises, linked and combined as a tri-series which exercises all muscle groups with progressive load using a bar with removable weight plates. Two segments of cardio-vascular work are inserted in between these 3 blocks (one segment uses the step, the other uses basic aerobic movements, both segments are based on athletic free-style movements). The combination of muscular work with cardiovascular segments ensure an intense, complete and effective workout for all participants. Although each class is pre-musicalised, after certification, the Official Trainer is able to make changes, always following the basis of the program, to suit the level of their class participants. POWERFIT® offers what club members are looking for, a motivating, challenging and entertaining session that allows them to maintain and improve their general physical condition in the shortest time possible. I did my instructor training for POWERFIT 2nd, 3rd and 9th April. Ruthie Teina and Mark Moon were our Master Trainers. I hadn't actually done a POWERFIT class before the training so I wasn't 100% sure of what I was in for. I was totally blown away after doing the 1st Masterclass and so thankful to be one of the first to do the training in Australia. The three days were a combination of physical and mental work... going over technique for the weight work, step work and cardio work, then also learning how to re-choreograph the blocks of work to suit our class participants. We even got the chance to individually instruct to the rest of the class which was great fun... everyone cheering each other on. Then at the end of the third day we were all told the good news by Ruthie.... WE WERE ALL SUCCESSFUL!!!! July 2005 ~ I passed my video certification, and now I am an OFFICIAL TRAINER.
