Punk Rock
Punk Rock. The furious, fast-paced ditties that were essential to '80s music and culture (not to mention the '70s.) These types of songs barely clocked in a 2 minutes sometimes, but their topics strayed off the path of the normal "love" songs. Oh man, I can't stand those (unless it's '80s rock.) But anyways, the songs' subjects consisted of political and off-the-wall ideas. Take "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue" by The Ramones. You see what I mean? Here are some of the legendary bands of punk music:

The Ramones: The pioneers of punk in the minds of spike-bracelet-wearing, leather-sporting, baseball-bat-carrying people. To sum up their effect on us in 2 sentences, "They were the first entirely punk band and inspired every band in their path. They revolutionized through simplicity, turning three chords into a rallying cry for a generation." The sayer of these sentences, Little Steven (littlestevensundergroundgarage.com - It's manna from the roots of rock heaven), was right on. The Ramones will never die, though Joey Ramone has passed away, their music will keep the flame of punk tunes alive and burning in our hearts. I conclude with the words of Joey Ramones, "Hey, ho - LET'S GO!"
