Nic had been wanting to go to Cape Pillar for years, and it was during one of his attempts to drag the rest of us along that we found Cresent Bay and got inspired about sandboarding.  In Nov 2000, Nic, Tim and Marc finally walked out to Cape Pillar, and viewed the magnificant views of South-east Tasmania.

The walk was around 4-5 hours to the camp site as Perdition Ponds, situated about 1.5 hours walk from the cape, about 50m from the (~250-300 m) cliff edge.  The second day we wandered out to the cape, overlooking Tasman Island, and back to camp again.
