I am already tired of writing in "pre" tags to format everything with a monkey wrench. Want instead to tell you about the little girls who all grabbed at my shirt as I walked along Coahuila alley today. There is an unbelievable part of town. "Five dollars, five dollars," she whispered, the fifth in a row to clutch at me. "Ay todas me quieren" I said and she laughed.
Yeah, the last few weeks and months I have been shifting my route to the machines every day, slowly seeing more and more of the red light zone, the zona norte, the zona de tolerancia, la coahuila. After dropping past the park toward second, I then walk along First Street, or down a block further, Coahuila, from G down to the computers I prefer on 2nd between A and B. The past week I have been touching Coahuila. Or negative One, as it were. Some times I cut back and forth between First and Coahuila on the "side" streets that lead down the little hill where the river floods used to stop, back in the days before there were any dams to block the winter rains and drink them dryyyyyyyyy....
Revolution Avenue = A , Constitution Avenue = B , Child Heroes Avenue = C , Articulo 123 = First Street , Juarez = 2nd Street , Felipe Carrillo Puerto = 3rd Street , For4et forget forfeit names of streets. They are only doubles doppleganger in the rhythjm rhyjme that opens alternate universessssss between the united snakes and Maximal minimallllllllll
Heh. I like to play.
Well, I suppose that's why it entertains me when the littlegirls in their twenties and thirties reach out to snatch at my shirtsleeve along Coahuila avenue but I am tryhing to figgggguuuuurrrreee out where is the bar that Gonzalo always goes to hell it's actually called that, and there's a heaven bar too down there down here in TJ yeah.
There are a hell of a lot of greasy looking and smelling places to eat down in Coahuila, in between the bars and garish nightclubs and cheap hotels that some of you will probably think aren't so cheap any more eh.
They put in all new sidewalks along Revolution Avenue and then along Coahuila Avenue but not so much along Coahuila alley (believe it or not there are TWO Coahuila streets, one quote-unquote "fancy" and one even-more-effectively Sleazy and the dozens of hard little women lean up against the wall and wait to take you for a few dollars and give you God knows what I hope for their own sake they make enough to keep them in good, unbreakable condoms but
but life is Definitely a Bitch and later, much later, you die.
