But aside from some other plot points I am too picky my nose. The film is a stunning tour de force. Unfortunately, as a religious man, myself, I am going to hold Gibson to a higher standard, here. He has not only invented (dare I say, lied), and exagerated, but... the film is, itself, a graven image. Thou shalt not make for worship, boy.
oh hell I've said enough. The film is a beautiful piece of work. That makes it even more... good and evil, I guess. Like all of us fallen human beings.
And then there is the whole language thing. It definitely was a trip to see all those European types pretending to be Jews and speaking Aramaic. And the Latin... I could almost follow the Latin. And, incidentally, Jesus speaks Latin with Pilate, and I think that is probably true, although the devil is again in the details....
Shut up Daniel you are just giving him power by talking about him. Gibson, I mean. Not the devil.
Heh heh that reminds me NOT SATAN CLAUSE
Went to the bookstore on the northeast corner of 35th and Adams (in the San Diego neighborhood called Normal Heights) to look for some music for my son to give for a birthday present. Also found a whole bunch of Maya books which I resisted all of them, thank you, even though I have no way given up my fascination and Mesoamerican obsession, no. But I will indulge in this photograph from Tikal, Guatemala, of the "lost world" pyramid... the picture was taken by Dr. Manuel Aguilar of CalStateLA who kindly permits. Thank you professor!
