Andar tras mesoamérica : Poemas :

Tajín Zone

late morning in the ruins
Saturday by capital letter

ay, poet, you and your Indian capitals
no more bending over coffee table photos

this is reality abandoned @ 1200 a.d. while
your Plantagenet ancestors schemed beyond

; Atlantic wall, unknown, unseen, unbelieved, no
feathered serpent Viking ships ever came here

into forgotten city of temples, mounds, palaces
scattered like bones, excavated, reconstructed

for you, today, enjoying a fabulous tourist park of
pyramids, broad lawns, stone paths, daydreams to

walk, sit, watch, feel, and write your 35-peso
archeology of government propaganda .

Tomorrow will be much, much busier
when all the people come for free .
