Thanks Srivatsan.
Shudras have not figured in any of the high holy Hindu writing. So are women, perhaps few exceptions here and there not amounting to anything spectacular. Various and sundry attempts at the hands of the RSS rascals, rogues and ruffians to equate Indian culture with a tight connection to Sanskrit writing is a bunch of baloney. The very word culture is like water,
colorless and odorless with a stable pH level. These good for nothing Brahmin bastards are trying to flavor this life giving and life sustaining water with their saffron shit and coloring it to imitate their saffron rag is nothing but ludicrous.
These same hoodlums who were dancing in the aisles when Bal Gangadhar Tilak came up with substantial proof that Aryans came from the arctic region are now burying Tilak, their darling revolutionary and going for a nobody by the name of Frawley, a white trash European to boot too. For centuries if not millenniums these Brahmin bastards kept the Sanskrit to themselves, so tightly held that unless a teacher knew fully well the student's Brahmin heritage he would not give that which he had no god given right, the knowledge of the ancient ritualistic religion mixed with some ordinary nuggets of knowledge.
The current generation has grown accustomed to learning from the British established institutions of higher learning, English being the medium of instruction. Such group who had plenty of opportunities to further their knowledge of Sanskrit have failed to take advantage of the system. The resultant lack of student participation major universities have stopped offering Sanskrit as a major subject, even at undergraduate level. The modern kids have learned that magic of Sanskrit resides in the deluded minds
of few bigot Brahmins and the major thrust is for secular education and technical aspect of higher learning where just as soon as the kid graduates he is offered fifty thousand dollars a year computer coolie job in the west.
Sociology of the ancient India, an Indology topic may need Sanskrit, Prakrit and other ancient dialects but modern sociology requiring a firm foundation of only Sanskrit is a bunch of crock, a crap, a saffron shit.
Thanks to the Hindu.

Quotas fail to change the lot of SC/ST students
Date: Saturday, October 23, 1999 10:30 AM
My dear Mahesh,
Good job. I do the same mistake, at least on the Times of India urls which I quote.
By the way, as intellengent as you are, how about throwing some light on the plight of the said students who have failed to cut the mustard in their government protection? I assume you may have different opinions than I have on this reservation mess. Perhaps we may have the same exact opinions. Milind should have started the ball rolling by adding his two cents' worth of commentary.
The quota system initiated by democrats in the good old USA was
practically banned by the supreme court. There were some chest thumping by the black and underprivileged interest groups. Is this system viable in the most competitive age such as we live in? I think it is a sham. The reservations for the underprivileged is not a solution to their age old backwardness. It is true in the USA and it is true in India. Asians or
students of recent Asian immigrants are excluded from major name or Ivy League universites, something I could never understand as it is a patently discriminatory policy.
Asian students, not just Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Korean students come on top bracket on the average standardized tests. Thier studious nature, frugality and intense desire to break away from the social stigma of not looking or speaking like the majority of WASP student population has created an instant hatred, perhaps jealousy among the white trash Americans.
The reasons to exclude them from Ivy League schools are fraudulent on the system. Asian students' grades, and their scores on standardized tests are discounted as they are considered on a different measure. The rush to these major school is awesome. Practically ninety percent of asian students would easily get Harvard, Yale, University of Pennsylvania and other elite universities and colleges with ease but they are stopped at the gate by this strange policy called 'putting together a class.' It means, simply, that no single group may have advantage over the others and a healthy mix of academics, sports, arts, and natural native talents are represented with a
hope that top heavy nerd population would not rule the roost.
If the American academics believe in such an ideal mix, each university and a college has a different formula for this mix, why cannot the Indian colleges follow the same pattern or system?. The big twenty would load the sports people in this mix and Harvard, Yale kind jaded institutions may find various other methods of equity, such as it is.
Head to head competition with no bias is not an ideal solution either. The rush for the best school or a brand name school is rather selfish on the part of the intellegent and talented student body. This drive creates a vacuum in the other regional schools where 'also ran' find it ready admission but no bench mark, essential level of academic excellence. The plentiful, sometimes generous scholarships and studentships offered by the
colleges to attract the talented body of students is a sure sign that such influx helps the overall average grades of all the students.
If they, the Indian 'do gooders,' under the pressure of backward student lobby act the way American educational, rather higher educational institutions, excluding the name brand school, things may improve in India. No quotas but a humane approach to the most deserving students' education goals, their preparedness to accept the challenge and sticking with such
goals no matter what.
The talk of meritocracy pops up in Brahmin community as if it has any merit. Merit is part of social psyche. The Brahmins do not let their children wander around with experimentations. They go for the education that brings them social status, your doctors, engineers and computer sciences tracts. It is more like a Brahmin cash crop and they have learned to get more out of their buck than poor hapless Shudras.
If the education is given to these Shudras that brings their earning capacity to above normal, most likely the benefits acruing to them in a generation of stable incomes may give the right direction and impetus to their future goals. The blind faith in reservation is a political tool and has never helped the right social group, not necessarily the Shudras. Brahmins also suffer from this fascination about having a piece of paper,
sort of license to land a clerical job of no consequence.

Milind,
I have a suggession to make.
You have quoted the URL as was directly available to you,
It points to ....../today/.... Problem with such url is, it
points nowhere 'tomorrow'. Instead, you do a five minutes
study on how these pages are organized at TOI in their
archieves. You could navigate to archieved page at any later date.
Once you understand the format of their path, you can substiture
the date with 'today'. Thus the url you have given,
really becomes:
http://www.timesofindia.com/231099/23indi16.htm
When you quote the url in this way, anybody can refer it
at least upto the date it remains in their archieves.
HTH.

My dear Rahul,
President K.R. Narayanan has unilaterally declared that reservations for all kinds of backward classes, both Shudras and Tribal would continue for next ten years. President's speech is written at the south block which in turn takes orders from the prime minister's office.
Be that as it may, the stated government policy shall be to appease the large and vibrant vote bank, formerly a private property of the socialists and Congress party's "mabap sarkar' liberal wing. Saffronites are ready to walk tall on a policy that was initiated, basically, to alliviate the age old backwardness of nearly twenty-five percent of Indian population as a true measure of the faith in the future of India. Future of feces fascists is the only underlined reason behind this rubber stamp renewal of a system that never worked.
The dynasty of Nehru, if not the legacy of Nehruvites is good enough for the saffron simian brigade ready to romp on the manicured lawns of political mansions they are occupying. The supreme court has struck down Uttar Pradesh's reservation/quota policies recently. Amberish K. Diwanji has written an article on this strange phenomenon in Rediff dated August 26, 1999.
In a unique case the supreme court disallowed the minimum marks required to get into Medical speciality courses from thirty-five to twenty. First of all, I am ashamed that even the thirty-five minimum is a ridiculous proposition considering that all these doctors make their quick getout to the fabulous America and other western countries just as soon as they get
potty trained. In American standard, very tough and universally accepted standard, one has to be in the top one percent of the class at high school graduation, in top five percent of the undergraduate class, score impressively in a national competitive MCAT test, be exceptionally bright academically and have one or more qualifying humanities, social sciences traits before he can get his or her foot in the door. No quotas and no
preferences. Just pure merit.
The supreme court of India has taken a firm stand on this political influence on the quality of education which is what politicians ought to take. Just bite the bullet. There is no such thing as a Shudra doctor or a Tribal doctor versus a bania doctor or a Brahmin doctor. Doctor is and ought to be sans epithets. If Shudras want to rise above the station, they must
exert as good as any Tom, Dick and Harry.
It does not mean that Shudras and Brahmins cannot compete on a level ground. That level ground preparation starts with primary education, secondary or high school education and basic college education not at the gates of engineering, computer sciences or medical schools. The idea is to prepare the youth of the entire nation to face the future with right amount of support and little, just a little generous treatment to the traditionally
non academic members of backward classes.
The wholesale selling of worthless diplomas may be diplomatically desired by the powers that be but the needs of general population have not been served by such policies. The exodus of qualified doctors, engineers, professors and computer scientists to the western world thru last forty years is an amazing phenomenon. The Brahmins started this exodus as they
were denied the rights and privileges to rise in major government facilities because of the silly quota systems. Banias were not far behind to emulate Brahmin example. The so called brain drain is in reality a sign of the rotten state and stated policies of previous administrations.
If the bright among the Indian population are leaving the country to be replaced by the also ran from the quota system more dangerous future is to be followed. Nobody talks about the universal basic education and minimum standard of living for all. Formerly it used to be five years before the same strutting politicians used to go back to their voter banks and make
withdrawals. In the current muddled political games it is practically every year on the year.
It canot be dinied and I am not denying the rationale of reservation and quota policies of the saffronites. They are shit scared to lose a large and well organized, well prepared political force of Shudras and Tribals who chose others over the saffron simians. The delicate act of balancing the crown, showing them who has the power, BJP bada babus are following the
Congress policies of crass Shudra ass chasing.
The reservation and quota policies failed miserably because Shudra sharp shooters have misused them openly. Shudra responsibilities in bringing their lot up was never tested. If government of India decides to throw the money at the problem of illiteracy among these backward classes they must obey the
natural laws as well. Throw the book at Shudras, for heaven's sake. Hold their feet to fire. Ask them to account for all that free pork.
Who is to say that Shudras themselves may not see the light and choose to self regulate their pitiful and selfish behavior. If India had untold resources to experiment, which obviously they don't, the phony baloney schemes of reservations and quotas might be the right price. Somebody must stand up and declare that such freebes are not making Shudras any wiser. On the contrary the system makes them more slothful and careless.
Thanks to the Rediff dated August 26, 1999 and October 24, 1999.

Great posts' from all of you, including SidHarth. Its been quite a while since Sidharth wrote something truely genuine and close to home. The growing discontent and paranoia among White Americans seeing Asians and other minorities (mostly Jews) excelling in top universities might some day lead us into a polarized society as that of pre -WWII Europe.
Quota System of any kind polarizes communities in every nation that advocates it. To classify is an iherent trait among human beings which makes them superior to all other living beings, but when prejudice accompanies classification t
The worst in human behavior surfaces dividing great nations. My two cents on this topic (nothing profound) Though Sidharth's opinion was very pragmatic and had its underpinnings
in the liberal thought process, I am not certain if the original message by Mr. Kamble was meant to gloat about the failure of the quota system in India or was it a genuine concern to make us aware of the plight of the SC/ST
student population. Whatever might be the intent it was a good post.
Thanks
