ABC.com character bio:

Bobby Warner, the son of Cliff and Nina Warner, and grandson of tycoon Palmer Cortlandt, has been long known for his mistakes. As a teen, he impregnated Kelsey Jefferson at a party and barely remembered her afterward. Bobby found true love with sweet Anita Santos, but allowed his fast-flying lifestyle to lead him down the road to infidelity.

In 1995, troublesome teen Bobby Warner came to Pine Valley to stay with grandfather Palmer Cortlandt, and the ladies' man set his sights on lovely Anita Santos.

Anita Santos befriended pregnant, runaway teen Kelsey Jefferson. As it turned out, Kelsey was actually Joe Martin's granddaughter and she was pregnant with Bobby Warner's baby! Joe soon discovered that Kelsey was in Pine Valley, and pregnant, and she moved in with the Martins. Anita came up with an idea. Her older sister, Maria, and her husband, Edmund, desperately wanted to have a baby, but couldn't. They could adopt Kelsey's baby.

Maria and Edmund were delighted when Joe and Ruth Martin's granddaughter, Kelsey, agreed to let them adopt her baby. But there was more to Kelsey's plan. She was secretly in love with Edmund. After her baby's birth, Kelsey engineered a scheme to move into Wildwind to nurse baby Sam, and be close to Edmund. Later, before the adoption became final, Kelsey demanded that baby Sam be returned to her. Maria was devastated to have the child she had grown to love torn from her arms. She attempted to run away with the child, but Edmund stopped her.

Eventually, Bobby Warner (whose romance with Anita Santos hit the skids when he was publicly pronounced Sam's father) agreed to marry Kelsey on one condition -- that baby Sam be returned to Edmund and Maria. Money or baby? Kelsey, who showed few maternal instincts, agreed to return the baby to the grateful Greys.

Anita and Bobby did reunite, when Kelsey didn't hold Bobby to his promise of marriage. Anita and Bobby decided to move to Chicago together in 1997 to attend college, and while living together, the two married.

In early 2004, Edmund was shot and left paralyzed after helping Juan Pablo Renato Ruiz de Vasquez deal with the Calatravas, a deadly Argentinian gang that was out to kill him. Edmund wanted to undergo risky surgery that could restore the use of his legs, but possibly kill him. Fearful of losing her husband, Maria adamantly fought against surgery, leading to clashes between the two.

Edmund elected to go through with the surgery, and Maria did her best to support her husband's decision. Fortunately, Maria was able to lean on her newly-returned sister Anita, who took up a job at Pine Valley Hospital. After the surgery, Maria learned the devastating news that Edmund's condition would remain unchanged, and he would have to get used to the idea of never walking again.

Anita and Bobby's marriage had hit a rough patch due to Bobby's philandering. Bobby followed Anita to Pine Valley, with promises of love and fidelity, and Anita struggled with whether to believe him, after being disappointed so many times before.

Anita, though initially wary of Aidan Devane (who had a romantic past with Maria while she had amnesia), grew to lean on and rely on Aidan for support as she grappled with her love for Bobby.
