A Dream Set Aside
by Damon S. Anderson
A dream set aside
That's what she is to me
By her rules I abide
And still alone I shall be

The days went so fast
As I tried so hard
To be her's forever
My dreams soon barred

There is no hope now
As she has found a new mate
Paridise in her eyes
While I only asked for a date

She's run back to a love
That has been her's before
She ALWAYS goes to her past
And not a new door

If she enjoys circles
That's no business of mine
I just wanted the chance
Of a warm fire and wine.

She's taken me for a ride
Time and time again
But through all of these struggles
Mine she's never been

There are other great fish
Out in the sea
But none will be the same
As she was to me

So I lock up this dream
And set it aside
For now I am done
With this rollercoaster ride

But this does not mean
That she is lost forever
Tomorrow she might return
As my great endeavor

But tonight I must sleep
In a land without worry
So I put her aside
An unfinished story
