An Angels dream...
Dreaming a dream
Of lovers together
Best friends till the end
And you know the angels wings don't break
And no one needs that knife
Then awoken in a flash
Bad news deemed
Reality hits...
Life is never what it seems
Angel's lost hopes
The best friend died
Now the lover, loves another
And the broken wings are stained
Even the angel needs protecting
But I guess you don't know that
Because you never heard the call
And you don't see her tears
Or hear their anguished screams
But just because you can't hear or see
Doesn't mean the pain isn't there...
Often they're better at hiding
Behind the fake smile
And covering up the scars
They've been hiding them
Longer than you...
They hold everything inside
They won't burden you with their pain
Because they believe your pain is worse than theirs
So they'll forget about theirs...for another night
They'll do anything to see you through
They'll wrap you up in their wings
And whisper secret things
And hold you through the night
Telling you everything is going to be alright
And its so sad that sometimes their wings break
And their dreams become lost
They can feel the pain
They sometimes try and cut it out a little
To try and ease the pain
But you'll never know this
You'll always see the smile
Its not their job
To show you their pain...
And so the angel is left to dream...
Because that is all she has left
A warm hug during the cold nights
Brand new golden wings
A gentle smile for comfort
Just a loving heart...
And someone who will
Open their eyes to see the pain inside
And wipe away the tears
And tell her everything is going to be alright
