Butterflies Are Back
by Shawna Wells

What's a girl to do, when she's lost inside
When she wants to run away, but there's no where to hide
When she's so confused and doesn't know what to do
And her heart is deteriorating all the way through

Should she hide her emotions from the one she cares
And suffer in pain till it's too hard to bear
Or should she be open and tell the story of her life
To the people who listen and make everything right

As I write these words and she becomes me
My spirit around me is soaring free
Not far away, just between the walls of my room
My secret is open and my heart may be soon

I know now that this love is better lost
Rather than frozen in my heart as a painful frost
The things we shared are always thought upon
But my body feels better now that they're gone

A new certain someone showed me how to set free
He held my hand and showed me what's to see
From before just a friend, to now maybe more
The butterflies are back and now ready to soar
