Once the world came crashing down
(I know it did, because I watched it fall)
It fell to its knees and cried to its dwellers
It was like God was being shamed,
His own creation stumbling to the ground.
Once my world came crashing down
(You know it did, you watched it fall)
It sored to the breaking waters and layed broken and cold
It was like I was being torn apart,
My own thoughts tearing me at the seams.

Once the sky toppled on itself
Not knowing what had happened
It cried its stars and wept its fog
Leaving you with rainy moods.
Once the night blanketed itself
Confused at its own perplexity
It layed dark for hours longer
Leaving you afraid and alone.

Once you fell on the spikes that you layed yourself
You ran into walls that you forgot how to take down
You tried to trample the demons (but it was all in your head)
And you sat battered from lost battles with the voices all around you.
Once I picked you up, hearing your glass-shattering screams
I sought out the fears blocking your essence
I stomped the demons to your past
And I fought your battles, so you could stand.
(And then you could do it all yourself
And I smiled at you
And you forgot to notice..
And I question
If you were ever worth it.)
