(It was December 31, 2001....the final day of the year. Countdown to Extinction....an event not soon forgotten. A night of betrayal, deceit and glory. It was a night that we saw the Eternal Championship change hands through an act of infidelity and betrayal.....and with this a new force in the DRWF. They call themselves First Class Felony. It was a night to remember the past and welcome the future. Blood was spilled.....careers were destroyed....the future has been determined. A day that will live in infamy. And amongst all this chaos a battle ensued between two men with the greatest of respect for each other. It was a battle for prominence in the sport. This battle put a young superstar by the name of Jack Hendrix against a wiley veteran in Simon Jacobs. The prize....the DRWF Dirty South Title and the glory it holds. And after all the smoke was cleared youth prevailed and a match was added to the long history of the DRWF. But even though Hendrix has brought himself into the fold of the DRWF greats he still feels that he is not recieving the respect he deserves. He still looks at himself as newcomer to the DRWF and feels that he has not earned the respect of the people around him. He hears the conversations in the back. He sees what the management is trying to do. To everyone ...Hendrix is nothing but a young kid. He hasnt proven nothing to them. The Dirty South title is nothing to them. You are nothing until you take that step to the Eternal title. But Hendrix doesnt care. He knows the road he has to take to get there and is willing to do it. But one thing still bothers him. This brings him to the past... We find Jack Hendrix in his limo which is rolling down through down town Philly. He is looking out his tinted window at the pitiful surroundings that he grew up in. He sees the garbage on the street....the homeless sleeping on doorsteps...the children playing on the crime ridden alleys. It brings him memories from his past. Memories of playing football in the park....baseball in the street. Memories of his friends dying on the street because they werent intelligent enough to stay out of the gang scene. He remembers the day his dad walked out on his family and left them with nothing. Memories of the long nights at home alone while his mother worked to support the family. And that fateful day when he met a man by the name of Jack Kage...his mentor..his teacher. All these memories that haunt him everytime he returns home. Hendrix breaks out of the memories and back into reality. He instructs the driver to take him to the cemetary outside of town. He lays back and fades back into his memories.....) ================================================================================ ( the next scene brings us to the graveyard on the outskirts of town. We see a man walking through the shadows of the night. He walks past the many memorials until he comes to a certain grave. As he steps out of the darkness and into the light of the moon we notice that it is Hendrix. He is wearing a black leather parka over his t-shirt and a pair of jeans. His long hair is pulled back into a ponytail. He has his Dirty South Title thrown over his shoulder. He looks down at the grave and a smile comes across his face. He begins to speak) <<HENDRIX>> Its been a long time old man. I see you havent gone anywhere.(He laughs to himself)But I wanted to come here and see you while I was in town. I came here I guess for a few reasons. But I think I came here mostly to gloat. (Hendrix lights up a cigarette. He takes a long drag as he adjusts the belt on his shoulder.) That may sound a little childish but right now I dont really care. I came here to show you that I DID become something. I came here to tell you that I DON'T need you. In fact since I got rid of you I have become somewhat of a legend in the industry. I became what you never could....succesful. You see old man...where ever I go I work my way to the top. Whether it was the WHW...the ECWF...the FSE...I have gotten to the top and stayed there. Now I am starting my conquest in the DRWF. And all of this without you. And you know what? It feels damn good. It feels great to get out of your shadow. Im not considered your student anymore. The student has surpassed the teacher. Jack...I left you where you should have been a long time ago...on the mat bleeding. I ended something that everyone wanted to see end...your pathetic existance. Even though I am hated throughout my own home town...I dont care. It was worth seeing you lying on the ground in a pool of blood. It was worth it when I heard that last gasp of air come from your lungs. It was worth losing the respect of a few to gain the adornment of millions. Something that you never could accomplish. You could never get out of the small time. And you wanted me to stay there with you. But thats one thing you taught me that I remember. The only lesson that ever meant anything. And that lesson...bever let anyone hold you back. So your death....dont blame it on me old man...you determined your own fate when you took me in and taught me. (Hendrix snuffs out his cigarette. He takes the belt off of his shoulder and holds it in front of him. He looks down at it and laughs.) Who cares. You are nothing but a distant memory. Just like anyone who comes after my belt. I guess my opponents will have to realize it the hard way....just like you old man. Just like the rest of the DRWF. You dont try and take anyting from me. You dont waltz into my world and try and take over. Jacobs learned...twice. And whoever my next victim is he will recieve the same experience as anyone else. Its my time and it is gonna be my time for a long while. Thanks for nothing Kage. Rust in piece. (Hendrix puts the belt back on his shoulder. He turns and makes his way back into the limo. He dissappears into the darkness.) ================================================================================ (The next scene is inside of Hendrix's limo. He is on his way to his home when his cell phone rings. He puts it on the speakers.) <<HENDRIX>> Hendrix here. What do you want? <<VOICE>> This is Poc you little bitch. What do you think I want? <<HENDRIX>> Im on my way man. I have to pick a couple things at home and I am heading to the airport. Whats going on anyway that you wanna get everyone together? <<A-POC>> After what happened at Countdown we gotta get some shit straight. X and Griggs arent gonna get away with this shit. )Hendrix pours himself a drink and lights up a smoke) <<HENDRIX>>Dude...dont worry about the First Class Fools. They still arent any match for us. If we have to we will take their punk asses out one by one. One thing I do wanna know is who the hell they have working in the CbK. One thing I cant stand is someone I cant trust. <<APOC>>If there even is someone. Griggs has a way with fucking with peoples heads. But I guarantee if we have an informer he will be taken care of and will NEVER be heard from again. <<HENDRIX>>And as far as Tyra....dont worry about that whore. She wont do anything but bring you down. Ive seen it happen too many times. Women are nothing but trouble in this business. Just worry about getting that Eternal Title back( <<A-POC>>Well...I dont take that shit from no bitch and she will get hers in due time. But first I want Griggs. By the way...congrats on beating Jacobs. In all the shit that went down noone really noticed that you won the belt. <<HENDRIX>>Thanks. Dont worry about not noticing. Since I have been in the DRWF it seems to be a trend around here. But maybe I will at least get a little more respect with some gold around my waist. Even though it isnt the Eternal title. (Hendrix gulps his drink down and sits back in his seat) <<A-POC>> Well lets worry about getting your ass over here and then we will worry about getting my gold back. Get your ass on that plane and I will see you when you get here. <<HENDRIX>>Aight. I will. Later man. (Hendrix hangs up the phone and instructs his driver to head for his house.) NEXT STOP....who knows. FADE TO BLACK |
