The world is full of mixed emotions. Love...hate...bravery...fear...they all can be found anywhere you look. But when you look out among these people you can see that they have not learned to control these emotions. It is easily recognizable. The woman sitting on a park bench with tears in her eyes because her latest fling up and left her. The man standing down the sidewalk from her wondering if he could get her on the rebound. Just down the road a little there is an older man yelling at a young man because he pulled out in front of his car. The young man is in fear of what his parents are going to think of the dent that was put in his car. So many people...so many uncontrolled emotions.

But that isnt so for all..

There are those people that have matured enough in life to handle anything that comes there way. They can control their emotions in any situation. One of those men is Jayson Merrick.

Throughout his life he has been confronted with many situations that would make a grown man cry but yet he has made his way through this life with no problems. When he steps into the ring or when he is confronted in a bar room by some redneck drunk...he keeps himself in check. But can he make it through the DRWF with this attitude?

This brings us to the present...

Merrick is sitting inside a restaurant outside of his summer home in Dallas, Texas. He is focusing on his book, Jim Morrison's "The American Night". As he reads a passage to himself...

The original temptation was to destroy,
The cliffs. The road. The wall.
Original heroism to bluff the elements....

Merrick is interrupted by one of the waitresses. He looks up from his reading and glares at the waitress. She nervously asks Merrick a question.

WAITRESS:Um sir...can I refill your coffee for you?

He puts his cup out for the waitress to refill. He then motions for her to leave as he continues reading.

...of fire. To call creatures into the storm.
The original heroism was to fall. To ball. To all.
Natural man...

Then a man approaches Merrick's table. His back is turned towards us. He takes a seat as Merrick puts down his book. He takes a sip of his coffee. The man motions for the waitress to bring him a drink. The just sit there and stare at each other for a second. Then Merrick lights up a cigarette and takes a long drag. He exhales as he begins to speak.

MERRICK:You're late. I have been here for an hour.

The waitress brings the man a drink. She asks him if he wants a menu and he just shrugs her off. She storms away.

MAN:Well it looks like you kept yourself occupied. What is it that you called me here for.

MERRICK:You know...Jim Morrison was a genius. A man that people dismissed as a wasted sociopath was an absolute genius. Most people when reading his works are confused and sometimes disgusted. Myself...I understand what he was going through. His words have real meaning. But what do you expect from these other peons.

Merrick takes another drink of his coffee. He then leans back on his chair.

MAN:I dont care Jayson. I thought he was a fucking psycho. What I wanna know is why I am here.

MERRICK:I have a rematch with the Unknown Soldier this week and I want you to do me a favor. I want you to watch my back on this one. For some reason I have a feeling that he wont be alone this time.

MAN:Is the great Jayson Merrick scared? I dont think I have ever seen that in you before.

MERRICK:I dont fear anyone. I just want this match to be decided without interference. I want to beat him...and beat him alone. So not only watch my back but I want you there to watch his too. I am disgusted with my match last week and this week I am going to make up for it. I will not be beaten again. Not by him or anyone else. This is my time. I came here for one reason and one reason only...to hurt people. And the Unknown Soldier is going to pay for humiliating me in my DRWF debut. His blood will flow through the aisles of the arena. I am going to rip his heart out and eat it in front of the rest of the Sons of Sin. They are going to realize that he beat me one time and that was a fluke. There will be a bloodletting tonight and it isnt going to be mine.

MAN:Damn..calm down. Just pay me the usual fee and there will be no interference...from anyone.

Merrick pulls out a wad of bills and takes out some money and gives it to the man. He then picks up his book and begins reading again. The man downs his drink and leaves Merrick alone to his reading.

Then he closes the book again and stares into nothing. He begins to speak....

MERRICK:Unknown Soldier...you had your 15 minutes at last Supreme Saturday. But now it is time to come back down to reality and face the consequences for your transgressions against me. This time around the story will have a different ending. I have had a week to prepare. A week to brood and a week for my anger to build. This time you will not walk out of that ring. When you step into my world I am going to beat you and beat you until there is not one bone in your body that doesnt ache. I am going to tie you to the tree of woe and teach you the true politics of pain. And when you are begging and screaming for me to stop. When your god or whoever you pray to doesnt stop the pain....there is only one person left that can do that and I will be too busy laughing as I destroy your career and your life. What will you do about it? Nothing. All you will be able to do is lie their and bleed. Are you ready to step into your nightmare? Can you handle looking into the face of fear? I guess we will see...wont we.

He opens up his book once more and begins reading as we...
