Pam Tillis in Ft. Worth, 5-26-2001

I had a blast when I got to see Pam again over in Ft. Worth at Billybob's. As a matter of fact, it was even better than I expected. I left here about 7:30 and then got there around 8:30. That's about what I'd expect. Traffic was light, since it's a weekend. I found a pretty good parking spot too. Have to find a landmark or I'll never locate the car later. LOL Anyways, I get it and just hang out for a while. I wondered my way toward the seats, as it was starting to get later. I noticed a crowd hanging around toward the backstage area, so I figured I should investigate. Sure enough, it was the Pam VIP crowd. They thought Pam was going to meet with everyone befor the show, so I hung around too. Turned out, it was a misunderstanding and Pam was going to really meet after the show. So, off to me seat I went.

With a grin on my face I just waited for Pam to come out. Pam sure can make an entrance! I had to take some pictures too. I think they turened out good, since I was pretty close. Pam was looking great in her jeans and boots. She had a flashy blouse and jacket too. She has long hair now and it really suits her. Pam can dance and sing at the same time. Also really good at playing the guitar.

OK. let me see if I can put some order into the song list. "Cleopatra, Queen of Denial" is a fun one. She does an Egyptian dance with it. So cute. :) "Let That Pony Run" is always great live. Slow ballad. She also did "Maybe it Was Memphis" , "Shake the Sugar Tree", and she has a wave with this song. She said "you know what y'all look like? you look like you're at a windshild wiper convention." Later she sang "Spilled Purfume," "The River and the Highway", "I Said a Prayer," "All the Good Ones are Gone","Maybe It Was Memphis", "Please" , and of course "Thunder and Roses." As an encore she sang the Beatles hit, "I Want To Hold Your Hand".

After the show, I got to hang out with the VIPs again. I had a pass, so didn't cost me anything to get in. I knew that, since I'm in the fan club. Yes, I met Pam after the show and got a picture with her. Pam is very nice and very friendly. I got to put my arm on her shoulder for the pose and boy was that a thrill. I got a nice autograph too. I didn't get too lost on the way back to the car this time. I did get lost in Dallas on the way home. I took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up way out of my way. I knew enough to find my way home, though. Got home about 2AM.
