Pam Tillis II
This is where I put my thoughts about
Pam's songs. I love them all, and I'll tell you what each means to
me.
Below is a list of some of my favorite songs on each album (I'm
always adding more, whenever I find the time to update this page)
The Pam Tillis
Collection
Put Yourself in My Place
"Put Yourself In My Place"
Catchy song with a cute video.
Melancholy Child
Very nice echo effect at the end. It's catchy also.
"Maybe it Was Memphis"
My favorite Pam song. This song turned be on to Pam in the first
place. This is my favorite ballad.
"Blue Rose Is"
"Don't Tell Me What To Do"
This one is lots of fun. Especially when Pam sings it live.
Usually she invites a guy to help her sing this one.
"One of Those Things"
Very sad song. Also very pretty. One of my favorites.
"Draggin' My Chains"
"Ancient History"
"I've Seen Enough To Know"
My favorite non relased song. Very catchy tempo.
"Already Fallen"
Homeward Looking Angel
"Shake The Sugar Tree"
This song is fun to dance to. The video is cute also.
"Cleopatra, Queen of Denial"
This song is funny. I love the video.
"Do You Know Where Your Man Is"
"Let That Pony Run"
This song is a pretty ballad. It's sad, since it's about a
divorce. However, it also sends a message that sometimes you just
have to let go in order to get out of a bad situation. Also, inner
strength and spirit are very important.
"Homeward Looking Angel"
This one is sad, but very pretty and I like it.
"Rough And Tumble Heart"
This one is my favorite on the album. I've been kicking around
since '72 also. Now you know how old I am.
"Love Is Only Human"
Pretty duet with Marty Roe of Diamond Rio. A very touching song
about true love.
"Fine, Fine, Very Fine Love."
This one gives me a warm feeling. This song is catchy.
Collection
(Warner Brothers label)
[I call this early years]
"Maybe It Was Memphis"
This version is slower and more instrumental than
the one most of us know about. Personally, I really like it.
"One Of Those Things"
"I Thought I'd About Had It With Love"
"Sometimes A Stranger Will Do"
"Those Memories of You"
- One of my favorites
-- Made famous by Dolly Parton on the
Trio album.
(1986)
"I Wish She Wouldn't Treat You That Way"
"Tennessee Nights"
This song is a very pretty love ballad. I find it
to be very relaxing.
"Five Minutes"
Pam did a great job on this one. I have
Lorrie
Morgan's version also.
"Goodbye Highway"
Catchy early Pam song.
Sweetheart's Dance
"Sweetheart's Dance"
The title song
"Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life)"
This is a great dance song.
"When You Walk In The Room"
I really like this one because its fun to listen to and I really
like the video.
"Spilled Perfume"
This song is the most touching one on the album. I can relate to
it.
"I Was Blown Away"
I miss this song. At least I have my copy. I really like the
tempo.
"In Between Dances"
"Better Off Blue"
This is a fun one to listen to in the car. It's catchy also.
"Till All The Lonely Is Gone"
Nice gospel song with Mel helping out in the background.
All of This Love
Pam produced this one.
"Deep Down"
I think we all can relate to this song.
"Mandolin Rain"
This song is very pretty.
"Sunset Red and Pale Moonlight"
Pam paints a picture with this song. I listen to it closely and
can really feel the romance and warmth in it.
"It's Lonely Out There"
I really relate to this one sometimes.
"The River and The Highway"
this is my favorite from this one. This ballad is very pretty and
I relate to it. (I think I am like a 'highway')
"You Can't Have A Good Time Without Me"
That's quite true for me. This song is a nice country song.
"Betty's Got a Bass Boat"
This song is quite funny. Reminds me of "Queen of Denial"
"Tequila Mockingbird"
This is Pam's longest song. A melancholy tale about lost love.
Very well done.
"No Two Ways About It"
This song is sad also. However, I relate to it quite well. That's
the way it goes with love sometimes. :(
"All of This Love"
This song makes me feel good. I love it. I think that Pam is
talking to me every time I hear this song. :)
Greatest Hits
"All The Good Ones Are Gone"
This song goes straight to my heart. I feel very sad whenever I
hear this one. Maybe I'll find my lady some day. If not, at least I
can still listen to Pam.
"Land Of The Living"
The most personal song in the collection. I relate to this one
very much. Reminds me of Martinia Mcbride's "Happy Girl." Not the
tempo, the feeling the song gives me.
"Don't Tell Me What To Do"
"Maybe It Was Memphis"
"Shake The Sugar Tree"
"Let That Pony Run"
"Cleopatra, Queen of Denial"
"Spilled Perfume"
"When You Walked In The Room"
"In Between Dances"
"Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life)"
"The River and The Highway"
Every Time
"I Said a Prayer"
This song is very fun to listen too. I love the video!
"Every Time"
This is a slow song that is pretty.
"You Put The Lonely On Me"
"A Whisper and Scream"
This song makes good use of symbolism.
"Lay The Heartache Down"
"Hurt Myself"
This song is satirical and takes a while to understand
what it is about.
"Not Me"
"Whiskey On The Wound"
Pretty slow song about how drinking is used as an escape
from problems.
"We Must Be Thinking Alike"
This song is very touching. Here is a small sample of
what I mean. "We must be thinking alike/ You never held me
so tight/ We must be doing something right/ ... /We must be
thinking alike." This song was written by Chris Farren and
Chuck Jones.
"After Hours"
"A Great Disguise"
I can relate to this song. I have another version of it
on Martina Mcbride's Wild
Angels album. I like them both. Pam does a great job on this
one. She makes this fan very proud.
