What Do You Do With
All The Old Stuff?
To make a Tax Deductible Donation contact a Not - For - Profit, [Non - Profit], Computer Recycler Organization. Describe the computer hardware you want to "donate". If the Recyclers are not in your local community, offer to package and prepay delivery of your donation.
Document your donation with an estimate, or memorandum of current value, and request a return receipt of donation. Be sure to include your prepaid postage, shipping or delivery cost as part of the donation.
The net value of your tax deduction depends upon your own financial situation. Ask your tax accountant if you need to know specifics.
Some Non - Profit Recyclers ask a nominal processing fee be included with the donation. In general most tax deductable donations more than "recover" the cost of processing, long distance shipping and delivery.
Always Contact -And- Confirm before you send, ship, or post.
Unless pre - approved, Only -Prepaid- Delivery is acceptable.

Part Two - The Software [1985 -1995]
One of the problems in trying to upgrade 486 based computers is that
there are so many different types out there. There were many, many
improvements along the way that continuously increased capabilities as
time progressed. Naturally, the mobo [MOtherBOard] had to change to
accommodate these new features.
