ANNOUNCING A NEW VERSION OF THE ONE- HANDED TYPING TUTOR,
UNICORN QUEST
Unicorn Quest is a MS Dos based typing tutor for children. It was originally written for an eight- year- old ... one- handed girl who wanted to learn to type. Unicorn Quest makes learning to type into a game. While on a quest for a missing unicorn, the player practices typing letters, typing words, and finally typing sentences. The player can choose any of three levels of difficulty. At the end of each exercise, there is a different ASCII animal picture as a reward.
Unicorn Quest version 2.1 is shareware, and can be used with right hand only, left hand only, or both hands. It is smaller than the original version, combining the original three executables into a single program. It is also much easier to customize for different keyboards, fingerings, or languages.
On special request, the typing tutor can easily be customized for any missing fingers. The program runs on any machine which provides basic MS Dos support on a 286 or better processor and at least 512K of memory. It uses only ASCII graphics, and will work on any colour monitor supporting 25 rows of 80 characters.
COMMENTS
Unicorn Quest is unique and RECOMMENDED.
Although a "Child's Play" program, the tutorial can be used by "Serious Adults" or just for fun !
Any PC [even old ones] can use Unicorn Quest, running with MS DOS. This program is both simple to use, and adjustable to the user.
