My Page All about AC/DC
AC/DC were formed in 1973 by the Brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. Originally from Scotland they moved to Australia in the 1960's. They joined with singer Bon Scott and a changing line up of Bass players and Drummers. After the release of their first Album "High Voltage" they settled on the Line up of
Bon Scott-Vocals
Angus Young-Lead Guitar
Malcolm Young-Rhythm Guitar
Cliff Williams-Bass
Phil Rudd-Drums
AC/DC hit the
UK in the Spring of 1976 with their first two albuns "High
Voltage and "TNT" at platinum status in Austarlia. Next
followed a torrent of Classic Albums, "Let There Be Rock"
(1977) "Powerage"(1978) "If you want blood you've
got it"(1978)and "Highway to Hell"(1979).By the
Close of The 70's the band had established world wide success and
Angus' school boy image had become a rock icon.
However in February 1980 the lead singer Bon's Scott tradgic death was a crippling blow to the band, however they were determined to find a new singer and carry on. In the same year they found Brian Johnsson and recorded "Back in Black" this proved nothing short of a Landmark. It has sold well over 10 million copies and is one of the best selling rock albums of all time. They followed this up with "For those about to rock we salute you!" The 80's saw AC/DC continue to produce cracking albums with "Flick Of the Switch"1983,"Fly on the Wall"1985, and "Who Made Who"1986. AC/DC are deffinalty at their best on stage (Im a rotten Guitar player if im standing still!-Angus) The 1990's brought fewer Albums but AC/DC were as strong as ever with "Thunderstruck"1990 and "Ballbreaker"1995 they also released their first live album since "If you want blood" entitled simply "AC/DC-Live"
Even into the 21st
centuary AC/DC are going strong with their newly relesed Album
"Stiff Upper Lip". This sees the return of Phill Rudd to
the AC/DC team and producer George Young. It is set to be another
AC/DC classic with its clear guitar riffs and inaudiable lyrics.
There is a World tour later this year, the first for 5 years.
After over 25 years of music and band memebers such as Angus
young being 45 and Brian Johnsson 52 they are as good as they
have ever been.
